Stock Assembly allows you to produce a finished item by using other items as components.
Before creating a Stock Assembly transaction, you must first create the finished item with the Stock Assemble item type and define its Item Recipes. The recipe specifies the components required and the quantity needed to produce one unit of the finished item.
Before You Start
Before creating a Stock Assembly, make sure:
- You have created the items that will be used as components.
- You create the finished item with Item Type = Stock Assemble.
- You set up the Item Recipes for the Stock Assemble item.
- The required component items are available in the warehouse where you will perform the assembly.
1. Create a Stock Assemble Item
To create a Stock Assembly, first create the finished item as a Stock Assemble item.
Step 1: Open the Add Item screen
- Go to Item > Item.
- Click + Add.
- The Add Item screen will appear.
Step 2: Complete General Information
Under General Information, enter the required item information.

| Memo | Enter any additional notes about the item. | No |
| Image | Upload an image for the item, if needed. | No |
| For Purchase | Select if the item can be used in purchase transactions. | No |
| For Sale | Select if the item can be used in sales transactions. | No |
Important: Select Stock Assemble as the Item Type. This enables the Item Recipes tab where you can define the components required to produce the item.
2. Complete Item Information
After completing the General Information, complete the available item tabs according to your business requirements.
General Info
Under General Info, you can configure:
- Unit Set Name
- Cost
- Currency
- Base Unit
- Base Price
- Barcode
- Rounding
- Unit information
The Account section includes:
- Asset
- COGS
- Income
Complete the required fields before saving the item.
3. Set Up the Item Recipe
After selecting Stock Assemble as the Item Type, the Item Recipes tab becomes available.
The Item Recipe defines the components required to produce the finished item.
To add an Item Recipe:
- Open the Item Recipes tab.
- In the Name column, select the component item.
- The component's Avg Cost and Barcode are displayed automatically.
- Select the appropriate Unit.
- Enter the Qty required to produce one unit of the Stock Assemble item.
- Click the Save icon to add the recipe line.
- Repeat the process to add additional components.
Item Recipe Fields

| Name | Select the component item used to produce the finished item. |
| Avg Cost | Displays the average cost of the selected component. |
| Barcode | Displays the barcode of the selected component. |
| Unit | Select the unit used for the component. |
| Qty | Enter the quantity of the component required for one finished item. |
Example
Suppose you want to create a finished product called Apple Juice.
The recipe may contain:
| Component | Unit | Qty |
| Apple | Kg | 2 |
| Bottle | Unit | 1 |
| Bottle Cover | Unit | 1 |
| Bottle Sticker | Unit | 1 |
This means one Apple Juice requires:
- 2 Kg of Apple
- 1 Bottle
- 1 Bottle Cover
- 1 Bottle Sticker
If you produce 10 Apple Juice, the system will calculate the required component quantities based on the recipe.
4. Save the Stock Assemble Item
After completing the item information and Item Recipe:
- Review the information entered.
- Click Save & Close to save the item and return to the item list.
You can also click Save & New if you want to save the current item and immediately create another item.
5. Create a Stock Assembly
After the Stock Assemble item and its Item Recipe have been created, you can proceed to the Stock Assembly transaction.
Go to:
Item → Stock Assembly → + Add
Select the Stock Assemble item you created earlier and enter the required production information.
The system will use the Item Recipe to determine the components required for the assembly.
Important: You cannot properly create the Stock Assembly based on an item that has not been configured as Stock Assemble with its required Item Recipe.
