An Item represents a product, service, assembled product, or package that your business purchases, sells, produces, or manages in LocalizeBook.
When creating an item, you can define its basic information, item type, group, pricing, units, accounting accounts, and other settings.
General Information
The General Info section contains the basic information used to identify and classify the item.
Code
A unique code used to identify the item.
Example: LAP-DELL-001
Use a consistent coding structure to make items easier to search and manage.
Name (English)
The primary English name of the item.
Example: Dell Latitude 5440
Local Name
The item's name in the local language, if applicable.
Example: A Khmer item name.
Item Group
Select the Item Group that the item belongs to.
Item Groups help organize items into categories and subgroups.
Example:
Electronics → Computers → Laptops
Item Type
Select the type of item:
- Stock Part – Used for inventory items.
- Stock Assemble – Used for items produced by assembling components.
- Service – Used for services that do not require inventory tracking.
- Package – Used to bundle multiple items for sale.

Item Brand
Select the brand associated with the item, if applicable.
Example: Dell, HP, Samsung, Apple
Memo
Enter additional notes or information about the item.
Item Image
You can add an image to help identify the item.
Recommended image size: 100 × 100 pixels.
Purchase and Sales Settings
You can specify whether an item is available for purchasing and/or selling.
For Purchase
Enable this option if the item can be purchased from suppliers.
For Sale
Enable this option if the item can be sold to customers.

The appropriate settings depend on how your business uses the item.
General Info
The General Info tab contains the item's unit, cost, currency, pricing, and accounting configuration.
Unit Set Name
Select the Unit Set used to measure the item.
For example:
- Piece
- Box
- Carton
- Kilogram
- Meter
A Unit Set can contain multiple units and conversion relationships.
Cost
Enter the item's default cost.
This can be used as the initial or default cost when the item is used in transactions, depending on the item's configuration and transaction type.
Currency
Select the currency used for the item's pricing.
Example: USD
Base Price
Enter the item's default selling price.
Example:
Base Price: $800
Barcode
Enter the barcode used to identify the item.
This can be useful when searching for or selecting items during transactions.
Accounting Accounts
The item can be linked to specific accounting accounts.
Asset
The account used for the item's inventory asset value.
COGS
The Cost of Goods Sold account used when inventory items are sold.
Income
The income or sales account used when the item is sold.
These account settings help LocalizeBook automatically post transactions to the appropriate accounts.
Stock Information
The Stock Information tab contains information related to inventory management.
The available fields and settings depend on the selected Item Type.
For inventory items such as Stock Part and Stock Assemble, this section is used to manage stock-related information.
Sale Information
The Sale Information tab contains settings related to selling the item.
This allows you to configure additional sales-related information for the item, depending on your business requirements.
Item Type, Item Group, and Item Settings
These three concepts work together but have different purposes:

This structure allows LocalizeBook to both organize the item and manage how it behaves in accounting and inventory transactions.
To create new the new Item in Localizebook:
- Go to the Item menu.
- Click on Item.
- Click on button +Add in the top-right of the page
- Enter the basic information of item:
